HOLLOWELL WHIPPETS

Hollowell Kennels was established in 1968. Originally, the
dog breed Diane chose to show, breed and train was the
Standard Poodle. Her first experience came in the obedience
rings where with her Standard and Miniature Poodles she
achieved obedience titles of CD, CDX, and UD. Her next set
of goals started in the conformation ring with purchase of a
foundation bitch (CH Hollowell Sophie of Mescal) and stud dog
(CH. Bushyrun Jonathon of Mescal CDX). In ensuing years
she finished multiple Standard Poodle Champions with many
of her dogs earning Best of Breed and Group Placements.
When Diane's handler, Camille Lashley, introduced Diane to a
fawn Whippet named Ozzie, it was love at first sight!
Two years later, Diane purchased her foundation Whippet
bitch from Linda Larson, Plumcreek Kennels. Thus began
the co-breeding partnership between the two women. Diane
has finished championships on many Whippets, with MSBIS
CH Plumcreek Hollowell in Flight (aka Briggie) being her
most notably well know Whippet.

She has breed Whippets that have gone on to race competitively and compete in performance
events including tracking.
Diane continues to invest effort with the Whippet breed, and while she rarely enters the show ring
herself anymore, she sends the best of her Whippets off to shows with Professional Dog Handler
Nina Fetter, owner of Sirius Kennels, also of Lima, Ohio. Diane manages and maintains Hollowell
Kennels, with occasional responsible breeding the top bitches of her line to produce another fine
litter, to continue seeking to improve the Whippet breed, maintaining the American Whippet Club
breed standard.

Em's Puppies were born on
Thursday, August 30, 2007. There
are 6 of them, 3 boys & 3 girls. All
are strapping & active. They are
in a variety of color & marking
combinations! This litter holds
much promise, going back to
some of our favorite early
Plumcreek/Hollowell dogs.
Emily is now retired and will
continue living with us!

From time to time, we at Hollowell know
the time is right for one of our beautiful
girls to leave us and enjoy a
home where she can be thoroughly
pampered and loved. This is Annie,
one of our beautiful breeding bitches.
She has been in our family for 7 years
but now has her very own family in her
own home. She now lives with Steve
and Cherie where she has free run of
the house. And as the picture tells you,
she believes she has found heaven!
